Lucky basketball shot!

With well over a half a million views already, this impossible shot taken by Skele puts them only behind three points with less than 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter.  I would have to say this is mostly luck.  Not entirely sure why he threw it up like that in the first place.  If the shot clock was winding down then I could understand - but there was still ten seconds left.  I guess he was falling out of bounds but could have just let the ball continue and it would still be in their possession. Either way, pretty sweet to see these random/lucky shots go in.

Metta World Peace elbows Harden

In a friendly game of basketball between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angelos Lakers, Metta World Peace delivers a huge elbow to James Harden after World Peace finished his dunk.  Metta World Peace (Formerly known as Ron Artest) has been in trouble with the NBA before for acts of violence and had his name legally changed to reflect he was a changed man.  Now, from what I see, this was no accident.  He clearly was celebrating his dunk, and then accidentally ran into Harden.  No big deal to begin with, then World Peace decides to throw a nasty elbow to make it into a big situation.  World Peace was suspended for 7 games which doesn't seem like much of a shock to anyone.  I know that basketball can be a contact sport, but when it gets out of hand there should be some sort of punishment to prevent it from further occurring.

Cats will rule the internet!

In just 4 days this attention-loving cat has already received almost 1.3 million views on Youtube.  My roommate has a cat and does almost the same exact thing.  Cats are so needy sometimes.  Play with me, pet me, pay attention to me, that's all they do while you're home.  The only other option is for them to sleep.  So they either sleep, or they become annoying.  Although I never imagined being annoyed by something that can be so cute.

is Kony 2012 a SCAM?

At first the Kony 2012 video which went viral on Youtube appeared to be heart-warming and a very well produced video on a topic which is very controversial, yet what their finances are actually used for might tell a different story.  While some people might be very willing to donate to help causes like this, I personally would reconsider and choose a different organization to donate to.  When only 31 cents on the dollar actually makes it to helping the children in Africa, and Kony may have fled the scene since around 2006, I find it difficult to rationalize my donation to this cause.  Their intentions may be correct or they may be flawed, but I would not take a chance at wasting my money.
